Credit unions can provide their members with low-cost remittances to Mexico and Canada through Catalyst’s ACH origination.

Many credit union select employee groups are located in, or have employees in, other countries. Credit unions can send payroll, loan proceeds and other payments securely, predictably and at minimal cost through the ACH system. The credit union's cost to send the payment is minimal, and transactions settle in the receiving country within two business days.

The process is:

• The credit union originates the transactions in NACHA format.
• Transactions are sent in the same file as domestic transactions.
• The Federal Reserve Bank's partners convert the items to the receiving country's format.
• The FRB publishes competitive foreign exchange rates daily on a convenient website.
• Transactions are originated in U.S. dollars and settled in U.S. dollars.
• No fees are deducted from the payment in the receiving country.
