ECONOMIC FORUM 2008

Credit unions looking beyond the horizon to gain a better understanding of economic conditions awaiting in the months ahead will have plenty to see—and hear—at the 31st annual Economic Forum, sponsored by Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union.

The Economic Forum, which will be held Oct, 28-29, returns to the popular Westin Galleria Hotel in Dallas, Texas, following a year-long renovation. There will be a one-day Financial Management Seminar on Monday, October 27 for Southwest Corporate Investment Services clients.

The theme for this year’s Economic Forum is "Looking Beyond the Horizon" and will feature presentations on:

  • The implications of a Global Economy on local credit union markets
  • The impact of technology on payments, financial institutions and consumers
  • And likely economic scenarios that depend on the outcome of the presidential elections

Joe Pine, the author of the Experience Economy and Authenticity, will address topics key to maintaining strong loyalty in an era of growing commoditization and choice. And, of course, Dr. Charles Idol will provide a credit union view of emerging economic conditions. All this and more are in store for this year’s Economic Forum.

Registration and hotel information will be announced in July.
