ACH Contingency Services

Catalyst can serve as an on-demand back-up processor in the event a credit union encounters service disruptions with its regular ACH processor.

In a contingency situation that prevents a credit union from retrieving ACH files through its normal communication channels, the credit union can contact Catalyst and the Federal Reserve Bank and have the credit union’s ACH files redirected to Catalyst. The credit union downloads its ACH files in NACHA format to a secure pick-up location, and then uploads the files to its host system. Likewise, ACH originations can also go through Catalyst in a contingency situation.

Credit unions can initiate a back-up agreement with Catalyst at any time, but completing forms in advance ensures a more timely transition in the event of an emergency. This service meets FFIEC requirements for ACH contingency planning.
