How Branch Capture Works
- Check scanners are installed at your branch and remote drive-thrus, if desired
- Tellers scan batches of deposited checks throughout the day
- Software reads MICR line data and written dollar amont, checks for presence of a signature, and verifies image quality prior to transmission to Southwest Corporate
- Imaged checks are cleared the most expeditious and least-cost method through:
- Direct connection with paying bank
- National image exchange networks
- Federal Reserve Bank
- or, substitute checks are created and sent for collection to non-image enabled institutions
- Images are stored and backed up for seven years and can be accessed via the Internet
